Super Committee Resources

Dear Partners,

As all of you are aware, there is much at stake in the Super Committee process for children and other vulnerable populations such as seniors and people with disabilities. As this process moves forward in Washington, DC, we wanted to share with you a few recent Community Catalyst resources that we believe you will find helpful in your work over the coming weeks and months to ensure that the outcome of this process protects Medicaid and Medicare and ensures that responsibility is shared.

This Community Catalyst alert explains our organization’s overall Super Committee strategy and includes messages tailored for three target audiences: (1) supportive Super Committee members, (2) supportive members of Congress and congressional leadership, and (3) governors. It also includes recommendations on tactics to use to effectively deliver these messages and a timeline for Super Committee activities.

Additionally, Community Catalyst’s statement on President Obama’s deficit reduction proposal and our blog post providing a basic analysis of the proposal provide valuable background to inform your work. Our partners at the Georgetown University Center for Children and Families also released a helpful blog post analyzing the President’s proposal.

Throughout the Super Committee process, we plan to continue to connect all of you with Community Catalyst's work on this issue. And, as with all issues, please do not hesitate to contact me directly if you have specific questions. I can be reached at (617) 275-2871 or ntambouret@communitycatalyst.org. As always, thank you for your continued work to protect the health of children in New England and across the country.

Sincerely,

Nicole Tambouret
Program Manager
